Spring break is the time of the year where college students are ready to kick back, relax and have some fun. This is fun that is well earned as they worked hard all year long. There are many popular destinations that a college student, or anyone for that matter could go to for a good getaway. One of the popular destinations  for Spring Break is Panama City Beach. If you are the type who enjoys going to beaches, then surely you have been here before.

During spring break season, it is normal to find Panama City Beach packed full of college students from around the United States. You may even find students from other countries as well. When you think of college students and spring break, you think of partying.

However, there is more to this beach than just partying. There is so much resting along the beautiful Emerald Coast. Visitors both young and old look at this as a perfect getaway and there is good reason to this.

This beach is well known for twenty seven miles of beautiful, soft white sand. In fact, did you know that they are listed amongst the top twenty beaches in the United States? They have held this rank for a long time. By looking at pictures, you are going to find a story, but there is much more to it. When you are here, you will be taking a breath of fresh air, enjoy an afternoon sitting in the sun or catching the waves. You have many different activities, including surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, walking the beach, shopping and much more.

Do you have a taste for marine life? Around this beach, you can visit Gulf World Marine Park. Here, you may catch a glimpse of one of your favorite creatures. Some of these creatures include sharks, dolphins, sea lions, penguins and even river otters. The shows are changed throughout the year. Some of the shows they have include a Reptile Show, Dolphin Show and a Sea Lion Show.

Do you have an eye for the wilderness? If you want to get out and enjoy the wilderness, then you may want to go and enjoy St. Andrews State Park. Here, you are going to come across two nature trails that give you a great opportunity to watch birds.

When you go to Panama City Beach, you are going to have so much to do. It may take longer than a week!

Benefits of Taking a Spring Break Cruise

By Matt Scriven

Spring break has been a celebration dating back to the ancient Greek and Roman days. During that time, Greeks and Romans celebrated the arrival of springtime, which was considered a season of awakening and fertility. In honor of this season, people would play and enjoy music, dance, and drink wine.

However, modern day spring break was officially started in 1938 when Sam Ingram, a swimming coach from Colgate University took his swim team to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to enjoy time in the first Olympic size pool. From that time forward, a new tradition was born, which is still celebrated every year by students graduating from high school or those already in college.

Parents want students to have fun since spring break is an important tradition that builds friendships and lasting memories but parents have valid concerns over safety issues. For this reason, parents should know about spring break cruises, which offer incredible fun and adventure, as well as safety. If parents want to chaperone, the ships are large enough to accommodate them and the students so parents have the chance to be close but not so close that the spring breakers feel smothered or babied. Even if parents do not go along on the cruise, they still have peace of mind that the high school and college students are in a safe place around highly trained staff.

Spring break cruises travel to many destinations but without doubt, one of the most exciting is to the Bahamas. For this, a cruise package could be chosen, which would help with price while not sacrificing on quality and fun. These packages are action packed with events, offering spring breakers a ton of opportunity for adventure and fun while onboard the ship, as well as excursions while at port. With spring break cruises being specially designed for young adults, every activity is well organized and supervised.

Because of the way in which cruises are designed, they are affordable and safe, whether parents are on the trip or not. This way, students have the chance to enjoy fun with friends in a grown up environment while parents know the ship is operated by professional staff that have experience. Often, these cruises are designated solely for people on spring break, meaning no or very few families families are onboard.

Although package deals would vary from one cruise to another, most include the cost of restaurants, hotels, day excursions, party passes, and more while on shore but of course, spring breakers would also have access to tons of food onboard the ship, day, or night, as well as activities. In fact, spring break cruises throw the students special parties.

The luxury ships used for cruises to the Bahamas are simply gorgeous and unique. When planning a cruise such as this, the goal is to choose the ship that best matches the group of students based on preference for price, amenities, onboard activities, and excursions. For instance, some high school and college students want to spend time onboard the ship, going to shows, dancing, rock climbing, sunbathing, etc while another group of people want so swim with dolphins or stingray, take a four-wheeling day trip, or go parasailing while on shore.

The right spring break cruise would have adventures to accommodate the needs of both groups so all the students would have a memorable experience. With a trip heading the Bahamas being so affordable and jam-packed with excitement, not to mention the top benefit of safety, this type of experience is ideal for the spring breakers but also the parents.

Spring Break Beach – Best Choices and Things to Do

The Bahamas has become one of the most popular places for students going on spring break for a variety of reasons. For one, the weather is simply gorgeous with lots of sunlight and bright blue skies. Another reason is the variety of things to do. Of those, the spring break beach is without doubt the number one attraction where high school and college students can sunbathe, swim, snorkel, scuba dive, wakeboard, parasail, and much more. The following is a list of beaches in the Bahamas considered the best.

* Paradise Beach – This spring break beach is everyone’s favorite although getting to it can be a little tricky. Some hotels provide guests with unrestricted access whereas non-guests can gain access to only certain areas of the beach but even then, it is well worth visiting. In fact, the entire area of Paradise Island is simply stunning!

* Cabbage Beach – Another popular spring break beach is one of the busiest. Usually, students on spring break look for busy beaches where all the action is so Cabbage Beach is the ideal choice. The only downside is that the beach does not have public restrooms but it is clean and beautiful.

* Western Esplanade – If your spring break travel will be taking you to Nassau, this beach is only a 10-minute drive from the downtown area. You may hear some of the local islanders call this the Junkanoo Beach but regardless, it is a great location with public bathrooms and nearby restaurants.

* Caves Beach – This spring break beach is also not far from Nassau and if you prefer a beach with fewer crowds, this would be the perfect choice. Caves Beach is not as well known as some of the other beaches in the Bahamas but the seven mile drive from Nassau should not discourage you from checking it out.

* Cable Beach – If your goal is to find a spring break beach close to nightlife, shops, restaurants, and casinos, this four-mile long beach located on New Providence Islands is ideal. In addition, it offers close proximity to public facilities and restaurants.

* Xanadu Beach – Situated on the Grand Bahamas Island, the water for this beach is clear and calm, making it great for snorkeling and swimming. It is also very close to the city of Freeport and near restrooms and restaurants. Again, if you want lots of people, this is an extremely popular beach so it is always busy.

* Tahiti Beach – This is another one of the quieter beaches in the Bahamas, making it a great place for walking in the sand, swimming, snorkeling, and sailing. There are no facilities and you would have to park your car above on the road and walk down or take public transportation.

Depending on the spring break beach you head to, you will find all types of beach and water sports offered. You may simply want to soak up the sun and take a dip in the cool water while mingling with people or you may want to experience something a little more adventurous. Scuba diving and snorkeling are both popular sports and many dive shops offer special discounts or package deals for spring breakers so you should check with the hotel or ship to see if they can assist in booking a dive. Another popular activity is swimming with dolphins or stingray.

For instance, you could go on an official Dolphin Encounter through a company located on the Blue Lagoon Island. With this you would literally be face-to-nose with a dolphin, which would leave you with a lifetime memory. Other companies have small boats that take people out to sandbars where they can get in the water with a snorkel mask to feed squid to stingray. Finally, the Hartley’s Undersea Walk is something you should at least consider when you visit the Bahamas. With this, you would wear a lead mask and be weighted down so you literally walk on the ocean floor approximately 10 feet below the water’s surface. While down there, you will see an array of colorful tropical fish and have the opportunity to take photographs with the use of a digital camera.

Spring Break 2010 – Panama City Beach

By Amy Diaz

With a population of about 40,000, Panama City Beach is a small city on northwest Florida’s panhandle. It is a popular tourist destination right on St. Andrews Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

The city’s official web site boasts that Panama City Beach is attractive for raising a family, which is true about eleven months a year. The web site also boasts that the city is an exciting tourist destination year-round, which is true, too.

But the city is most well-known for one thing: Spring Break.

College students from all over Canada and the U. S. Make their way to Panama City Beach each spring to party with other like-minded people. It’s a good place to party and forget about the scrutiny of school and exams. To wit, for the past two years, Panama City Beach has hosted MTV’s Spring Break. And students will again have another chance to party there in 2010.

Hotels and motels line up to lure these partygoers to stay at their place. Because of this, you should reserve your rooms early – even a year in advance is recommended. Everywhere will fill up quickly.

During the day, there is plenty to do in Panama City Beach Spring Break. For sure, there are the endless beaches. Beautiful sandy beaches for swimming, soaking up rays, playing Frisbee or beach soccer, and watching all the other partiers having a blast. While the public beaches are the most popular, they get very crowded during this time. However, don’t worry, there is always St. Andrews State Park, which also has nice beaches. There is a small fee to enter the park, but it might be worthwhile to avoid the crowds.

Nearby the main strip is a popular water park called Shipwreck Island. A ticket to get in is about $30 or so. You’ll need more dough, however, if you want to eat or drink inside because coolers and food from outside are forbidden. Regardless of age, though, there are all kinds of rides for everyone to enjoy.

For those who want to party at night, luck is on your side. There are many bars, restaurants, and nightclubs available.Maybe the best-known nightclub is Club La Vela, purported to be the largest nightclub in America. The club is several stories and houses multiple themed rooms where parties never slow down. ther well-known party spots include Spinnaker and Hammerhead Fred’s. Then there’s the Boardwalk Beach Resort, situated right on the beach. It hosts Spring Break concerts and themed contests all day every day and it might be the place for you to see and be seen.

There is also plenty of shopping, if that’s your thing. There are malls aplenty, as well as more souvenir shops than you can count. A popular local attraction is Alvin’s Magic Mountain Mall. It resembles a cave and everything from beachwear to cheap souvenirs can be found there. As it’s Florida, an alligator display is quite the attraction, as well.

Spring Break 2010 in Panama City Beach starts for some as early as mid February. The majority of students will enjoy their break throughout March with the two busiest weeks starting March 6th.

Locals get their small city back around April 10 of next year, when MTV Spring Break officially ends.

Students Save $600+ Aboard Spring Break 2009 Mazatlan Party Bus

PEABODY, Mass., Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ — Spring Break — there’s no question this college hiatus is the highlight of many students’ experiences. But planning for this near right-of-passage and finding the perfect place to party can be the pits for students facing budget constraints, student-loan stress, and a tighter-than-ever job market.

 A growing trend, however, is the popularity of taking the Party Bus to Mazatlan, Mexico. Departing from most campuses throughout Texas and Arizona, the Spring Break 2009 Mazatlan Party Bus Package by ParadiseParties.com provides a convenient, comfortable way for students throughout the United States to travel to Mazatlan. In fact, rates are so low that ParadiseParties.com guarantees the trip as the most affordable yet festive way to “Spring Break” in style.

“We all know the economy is not doing so great,” says Matt Scriven, founder/owner of ParadiseParties.com. “Money is extremely tight, but college students still want to go on Spring Break. ParadiseParties.com has put together the absolute best deal you can find. You can actually save over $600 on airfare packages by hopping aboard the Mazatlan Party Bus to Mexico.”

maz_bus_140x2001 With ParadiseParties.com’s Spring Break 2009 Mazatlan Party Bus Package, some of the many perks include:

  • Round-trip transportation on a luxury party bus;
  • Five nights at a beachfront property, such as the Oceano Palace, Caravelle Beach Resort and Costa de Oro;
  • 10 free meals (two per day);
  • 50+ hours of free drinks; and
  • Convenient, onsite hosts for assistance

“With such an inclusive package, the Mazatlan party bus is not only the best deal going, but it’s also a complete blast,” Scriven says. “As soon as the bus crosses the border, it stops at a convenience store so students can load up on beverages and snacks to party all the way to the beach. Once at Mazatlan, the drinking age is 18, open-bar parties are legal, and the clubs are going off. It’s also warmer than the most popular U.S. Spring Break destinations like Panama City Beach, Florida and South Padre, Texas. Even better, it rarely rains in March. More sun means more fun.”

 Of note, students traveling with ParadiseParties.com’s Mazatlan bus don’t need U.S. passports. To cross the border, all that’s required is a certified copy of a birth certificate and a state-issued form of identification like a driver’s license.
